A sports medicine specialist observes the movements that athletes perform in their sport, identifies their musculoskeletal limitations and gets them back to participating in the activities they enjoy. These therapists understand the demands of sports in both premiere and recreational activities and tailor the interventions to suit each athlete’s specific needs.
The therapist will begin by assessing body movement and mechanics for the athlete’s mobility, stability, and ability to generate speed and power for their specific sport. They will then create a comprehensive program at the athlete’s level of function to attain their sport-specific goals.
They were considerate of my needs when it came to scheduling and were very compassionate and knowledgeable about my injury and guided me with exercises at the facility as well as a regimen to follow on my own. Pretty much everything I could ask for – skill, knowledge, compassion, and friendliness.Cliff Y.
