DPT – Doctor of Physical Therapy
CPT – Certified Personal Trainer

Josh Plonka is a licensed physical therapist at our East Grand Rapids clinic. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Wayne State University in 2021. He then continued his education there receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2023.

Josh is passionate about empowering his patients to meet goals and shift their mindset as to what their bodies are capable of. He specializes in the everyday athlete and enjoys the creative process of replicating the demands of sport in the gym. He also specializes in strength and conditioning, functional training, running, cycling, and manual therapy. He strives to help patients maximize their potential on the bike, trail, field, pool, court, or pitch!

In his free time, Josh enjoys riding his bike or running around town and being active with his wife and friends. He loves an excuse to try out an exercise class or spend the afternoon playing pickleball. Josh is also a foodie. He refuels by exploring the local food scene (especially breweries and ice cream parlors) and enjoys diving into the science of cooking and trying new recipes.

Always very professional and knowledgeable about what was needed to relieve my pain and restore function. Excellent teaching on what I could do at home to maintain mobility and health. The use of visual aids to show me what is causing my problems, and the printout sheets and online app with exercises are so helpful too.
