Katie Thomas

Physical Therapist, DPT

DPT – Doctor of Physical Therapy

Katie is a licensed physical therapist at our East Grand Rapids clinic. She graduated from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science in 2008 and continued her education at GVSU where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2011.

Katie’s favorite part of being a physical therapist is problem-solving. Each patient is unique, and finding the best combination of treatments and exercises to optimize recovery is exciting for her. She enjoys using advanced manual therapy techniques, cupping, and dry needling in her practice. She is passionate about learning as much as she can about the pelvic floor and its connection to the body as a whole. She is also a teacher assistant for Herman and Wallace, helping other physical therapists learn rehabilitation strategies for treating patients with pelvic health issues.

Outside of the clinic, Katie and her husband, Brandon, love to stay active with rock climbing and snowboarding. They also enjoy traveling and even spent a sabbatical year exploring the world. Life requires balance, however, and relaxing at home with their cat brings much happiness to their lives as well.

I had been to 6 other physical therapists in Michigan and California before I begged my doctor to send me to “whoever is THE BEST in West Michigan.” I’m so grateful he sent me to Hulst-Jepsen.
