Overhead Athlete

Our mission is to educate and further develop athletes by establishing symptom free biomechanics and movement patterns. This allows for reduced risk of injury and will maximize the performance of athletes who participate in overhead activities.

What to Expect

Physical therapists will assess the athlete’s upper extremity, trunk, and lower extremity biomechanics through functional screening and sport-specific movements. The therapist will also assess the athlete’s mobility, stability, and ability to generate speed and power for their specific sport.

The physical therapist will guide the athlete through an individualized treatment program to decrease symptoms and enhance performance.

We also offer a client pay arm care program to prevent injuries for the overhead athlete. Visit the bottom of this page for more information.

Arm Care Program

Arm injuries in youth sports are on the rise.  Are you tired of losing players mid-season due to injuries that possibly could have been prevented ahead of time?

In an effort to cut down on the number of arm injuries, we have developed an Arm Care program for overhead athletes of all levels. This is a client pay program which will not be billed through insurance. Our program consists of a 2-step process.

Session 1: Injury screen and Phase 1 exercise program instruction designed
to target areas prone to injury.
Session 2:  Retest then progress to Phase 2 exercises if appropriate.

Parents of interested players may contact any of our Hulst Jepsen Physical Therapy locations for more information or to set up an appointment.  No referral is necessary. We look forward to hearing from you.
