DPT – Doctor of Physical Therapy

Shannon Hoekstra is a licensed physical therapist at our Cedar Springs clinic. She received her Bachelor of Science in Integrative Physiology and Health Science and Pre-Physical Therapy from Alma College in 2021. She continued on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Trine University in 2024.

Shannon is passionate about general orthopedics and fall prevention. She enjoys helping patients reach their full potential and functional goals for everyday and recreational activities. She believes in a hands-on approach including manual techniques and exercise-based interventions throughout a patient’s plan of care. She loves making a personal connection with her patients and building a mutually respectful relationship throughout their recovery.

In her free time, Shannon enjoys going to the gym, hiking, playing with her two English yellow labs (Lacey & Hazel), spending time on Lake Michigan, and playing volleyball.

It’s rare to find a PT office that not only understands and supports your physical needs but also your emotional needs. Injuries are not fun and most of the time recovery is long and hard. Having kind and helpful PTs is HUGE. Thanks, Hulst Jepsen!
