Mari Hillary

Physical Therapist, DPT

DPT – Doctor of Physical Therapy

Mari Hillary is a licensed physical therapist at our East Grand Rapids clinic. She graduated from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2006 and continued her education at GVSU where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2009.

Mari spent the first 13 years of her career practicing in Holland, MI at an outpatient private practice where she was able to develop her skills for treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions both acute, chronic, and post-operative in nature. Her education and clinical experience have helped her to develop an integrative treatment approach and she enjoys evaluating the patient as a whole to help them find relief from their pain and solutions to their impairments. She is skilled in a variety of manual therapy techniques and has advanced training in the treatment of temporomandibular joint dysfunctions (TMD), headaches, spine, and pelvic floor conditions including treating women with pelvic pain, urinary urgency, and frequency, stress urinary incontinence, pregnancy, and postpartum-related issues. Her favorite part of her job is getting to know her patient’s on a personal level and customizing their care to help them achieve their goals.

Aside from being a PT, Mari’s most rewarding job is being a mother to her two children, Andrew, and Maggie. Mari also enjoys spending time with extended family and friends, traveling with her husband, being on the lake, playing any kind of game, reading a good book, watching a good show or movie, and eating her husband’s delicious home-cooked meals.

They were very patient and in tune with my concerns and helpful in explaining what the different exercises were and how they would help me. I’m now at a place with my recovery where I am able to continue on my own. My whole experience was very positive.
