Robyn is a licensed physical therapist at our Cascade location. She graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelors degree in health science with an exercise science emphasis in 1995 and a Masters degree in physical therapy in 1998. Robyn has been Board Certified as a Sports Clinical Specialist since 2003.
Robyn has worked her entire career in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine. She has specialized in the areas of running and golf injury prevention and performance enhancement. She has extensive experience in running video gait analysis and has been teaching seminars in running injury prevention nationally for many years. Robyn is also certified through the Titleist Performance Institute as a medical fitness instructor since 2007. She has worked closely with several golf clubs, clients and Universities in the Grand Rapids area to provide golf specific physical assessments and golf fitness instruction to improve performance and prevent injury.
Robyn has been active in educating other health care professionals as an instructor for several different continuing education seminars. She has taught nationally and internationally on seminars including ACL injury prevention, Current Concepts of the knee and shoulder, foot and ankle biomechanics, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, and When the foot hits the ground everything changes – Running. She was awarded the Emerging Leader award by the APTA in 2007. She has co-authored a book chapter on the Physically Active Female and SPTS home study course Spine injuries in Sports. She is also a contributing author in a published article in the North American Journal of Sports Physical Therapy called Return to Golf following left THA in a golfer who is right-handed.
Robyn believes in empowering her patients and clients with the tools needed to be as active as possible and return to their previous level of function quickly through manual and exercise techniques. She works with all types of orthopedic and sports medicine injuries as well as self-pay clients to improve running and golf performance.
Robyn has competed in a variety of running and triathlon competitions over the years and also enjoys attempting to improve her own golf game. In her free time, she loves to travel, spend time with friends, and be outdoors doing anything from running, hiking, biking, swimming as well as spending time with her husband and boys – which seems to typically include watching any sporting event.

Thank you for your help in my recovery. Wade and Marla have certainly helped me with their therapy after the knee surgery and the broken arm. All of you have been extremely kind as you guided me through the various exercises that have re-energized the many muscles that have helped me walk and get close to normal again. Your smiles, encouragements, the family atmosphere has been very helpful throughout the process. It starts with the smile and welcome that Kayla gives each time I walk in the door.
