Mike is a licensed Physical Therapist at our Standale location. He began his college years at Michigan Technological University, later transferring to Central Michigan University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Public Health. He then went on to Grand Valley State University, where he received his second Bachelor’s degree, this time in Physical Therapy, in 1986.
Mike has spent his entire Physical Therapy career in West Michigan, working in outpatient clinics treating individuals with a wide variety of orthopedic issues. He has taken numerous continuing education courses, all related to orthopedic rehabilitation. He has a special interest in post-surgical rehabilitation. Mike has always been fascinated by the fact that, while everyone has the same basic anatomy, all are different in how they function and manifest problems. As such, he places a great deal of importance on looking at and listening to every person he works with as individuals, and not as a “diagnosis”, in order to create an optimal, individualized treatment plan.
Mike enjoys running, traveling to Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, and spending time with family and friends. He is married with two adult daughters. He also very much enjoys living and working on the West side and being part of that community.

You are all AMAZING!!! Amber and Jolene are the best! When Abbie became injured 1 1/2 years ago in dance- something she loved to do, she went through 3 doctors, another physical therapists, many painful procedures and finally found a Dr. Hedlund who sent us to Hulst Jepsen where she was blessed with 2 amazing therapist and their staff! Abbie thought she may never dance again! She had many ups and downs in her therapy but no one ever gave up on her. They always listened to her and helped her do her best! Now she has finished her therapy, is starting dance again in a few weeks, is auditioning for the Nutcracker and her dance team at school!!!Holly
