Our Physical Therapists
Hulst Jepsen Physical Therapy employs highly qualified therapist and therapist assistants who share our commitment to delivering excellent customer service by helping people achieve great results in a short amount of time. All of our experienced therapists have backgrounds in manual physical therapy and understand that taking the time to listen to the patient and develop an individualized treatment plan is the cornerstone of excellent physical therapy.
There are several types of degrees offered in the field of Physical Therapy. Before the late 1990's, therapists received a bachelor's degree in physical therapy (P.T.). This was slowly replaced by:
- Master's, either Masters of Physical Therapy (M.S.P.T. or M.P.T.) or Master's in Health Science (M.H.S.P.T.). They completed their bachelor's degree and then a two years master's program of physical therapy.
- Doctorate, or (D.P.T.), completing a bachelors degree and then completing an additional three more years in physical therapy.
A Physical Therapist Assistant (P.T.A.) has completed a two year associate degree in physical therapy. Additional courses/training can be taken to be certified in specialty areas of physical therapy:
- Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (O.C.S.)
- Sports Clinical Specialist (S.C.S.)
- McKenzie Specialist (MDT)
