Our Therapists
John Jepsen, M.P.T.
John is a co-owner of Hulst Jepsen Physical Therapy and works primarily in the Caledonia clinic. He has been a physical therapist for 16 years. John is originally from California and received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from California State University. He graduated from Northwestern University with a Master’s degree in physical therapy in 1992.
John has extensive specialized experience in sports medicine and shoulder dysfunction, but has also worked with a lot of patients with low back pain and neck pain. He has attended multiple continuing education courses on a variety of topics, with an emphasis on manual therapy. John enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic, spinal and sports injuries along with post surgical conditions from pediatrics to geriatrics. John is an avid outdoorsmen and enjoys hiking, fishing and canoeing.
Karen Asekomeh, D.P.T.
Karen is a physical therapist at our Grandville and Caledonia locations. She graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2007 where she received her doctorate of physical therapy. Karen has a passion for working with sports and orthopedic injuries. During her college career she played basketball for Western Michigan University, in which she suffered an ACL tear and underwent physical therapy. Currently, she is pursuing a certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy from NAIOMT (North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy) to further develop her manual skills.
In her spare time, Karen enjoys playing basketball, rollerblading, as well as spending time with her daughter and family.
